Nokia 8 Gets Android Oreo ; Nokia 6, 5, 3 And 2 To Be Next Soon

Last month, HMD Global rolls out a beta version of Android Oreo for their Nokia 8 flagship, with promise to roll out a stable release to the device before the end of this year. Sticking to that promise, the company announced that the Android 8.0 Oreo has begun rolling out for the Nokia 8 devices. Juho Sarvikas, the Chief Product Officer at HMD Global, was the one who made the announcement in a tweet. The roll-out of the Android update is phased over 2 days, meaning that it might take some time for it to reach all devices. The build number for the Android update is V4.35J and is 1518.1 MB in size. According to the update changelog, the Android Oreo will also come with all its standard features including the picture-in-picture mode, notification dots, Autofill Framework, and faster boot times. Samsung Rolls Out 3rd Oreo Beta And November Security Update For Galaxy S8 And S8 Plus

As the year comes to a close, Samsung rolls out the third Android Oreo beta version, as well as the November security update for Galaxy S8 and S8 plus. The 623 MB update will come with a sizeable bunch of bug fixes, including the nasty bug some users reported after the second beta. The Samsung Members app also mentioned a new feature that lets users hide the “Apps running in the background notification”. The third Oreo beta will also come with the general November security patch, while non-beta program users should be receiving the November patch as an OTA update shortly. The 545 MB security patch update is expected to fix the notorious Wi-Fi KRACK vulnerability as well as over 60 other exploits. The build number for the latest patch is G950FXXU1AQK7. Google Removes UC Browser From Play Store

Last week, Google raised a lot of eyebrows when it removed the popular mobile web browser app, UC Browser, from its app store for what it cite as their "misleading" promotional materials. Google wasn't too happy with the app’s terms of service (ToS). According to Mike Ross, a developer who claims to work for UC Browser, the browser was “temporarily removed” from the Play Store for 30 days because it “mislead” users into installing it. However, in a kind of twist, UC Web denied knowing Mike Rose. According to them, “The reason for the removal has nothing to do with alleged data security breach or malicious promotion. We would like to state that we have norecords of anyone named ‘Mike Ross’ claiming to be working for UC Browser, as mentioned in somereports.
