Nokia 3310 Classic Mobile To Get 3G

The company responsible for the revival of the Nokia brand, HMD Global, have announced that the colourful candybar Nokia 3310 classic mobile will be getting a 3G version. Unlike the previously slower 2G version, this device will be able to support a handful of popular apps including Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp and Skype. However, HMD says that enabling 3G will lead to some major adjustments to the handset itself. For example, the size of the phone will be slightly beefed up and the overall device will be redesigned to enable more spacing between the buttons to make the typing experience more comfortable. Battery life too would considerably reduced with only up to 6 hours of talk time as against the 22 hours of the 2G version. HMD also says it had to develop some new core software to enable support for 3G, meaning that the 3G handset has a slightly different OS than that of the 2G version.
