Google Is Offering $1.5M Reward For Spotting Out Bugs In Its Pixel Smartphones

Google is offering a mouth-watering $1.5m prize money to anyone who can spot out security flaws in some of its Android Smartphones. Previously, the prize offering was $200,000, but is being raised to $1.5m in order to encourage people to report any bugs they discover, rather than selling it to others who could exploit it for criminal reasons like hacking people's phones. Other companies such as Apple, Samsung and Facebook also offers rewards for uncovering security flaws. To claim the Google bounty, researchers would have to find a way to compromise the Titan M security chip in the Google Pixel devices, spot out any problems in it and then report it so that it can be immediately fixed.

WhatsApp Has Now Added Fingerprint Unlock Feature

WhatsApp is the most popular app in the world, yet it can often be slow to add new features that are popular. Few months after iOS received fingerprint unlocking for its WhatsApp, the feature is now officially available on the Android version in the latest stable build 2.19.221. Fingerprint unlock is an extra security measure to protect your account. The feature require users to provide a fingerprint before they can be granted access to an app. So if by chance someone were to access your phone, they would not be able to open the app. Moreover, WhatsApp fingerprint unlock uses the same fingerprint you use to unlock your phone. When you update your WhatsApp with the latest version, open it and navigate to the app’s settings. Click on Account, and then Privacy. Here you will see WhatsApp’s new fingerprint lock option. If you don't see it, you could try deleting and reinstalling the app. But do make sure you first back up your chats! Once you have the option, toggle the setting.
