How To Download Fortnite On Android

Earlier this month, Google as well as Apple took down Fortnite from their online Store after its publisher Epic Games tried to get around the 30% fee they both charge app developers for purchases on their platforms. In response, Epic filed lawsuits against the tech giants to get them to rescind their decision.

Though Google Android users may no longer be able to download Fortnite via the Internet Play Store, they can still legally install and play the game on their phone or tablet, but that would require some little work on their part. The same, however, cannot be said about Apple iOS devices which restrict access into its system. So we'll be concentrating on those with Android devices.

HOW TO DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL FORTNITE ON YOUR ANDROID

For those with Android, there are two simple ways they can download and install Fortnite on their devices:

1. From Epic Games official website.

2. From Galaxy Store using Samsung devices.

Before you begin, first make sure your device is compatible with Fortnite. If it is then follow the instructions below.

1. Getting Fortnite directly from Epic Games

To get Fortnite on your phone, go directly to the game's official site at fortnite.com/android using your phone or you can scan the QR code that's shown on that page when you visit it on a computer.

When you are on the site, tap on the Get it on the Epic Games app button and follow the instructions to download and install the Epic Games app, which you then use to download and install Fortnite.

The process requires that you allow your browser to download Android apps and install them. If you are using Chrome browser, you can enable it to download Epic games by going into Settings > Apps > Chrome, find the Install unknown apps option, and then slide the switch to the On position.

Once you install Epic Games, you can follow the instructions to install Fortnite. Again, you'll need to allow another app (this time Epic Games), to install apps on your phone.

Once it's installed, launch Fortnite, sign into your Epic Games account and start playing.

2. Get Fortnite from Samsung Galaxy Store using your Samsung phone

If you have a Samsung phone or tablet, you will know that the device has it's own app store (Galaxy Store) preinstalled to enable access to apps outside the Play Store. Epic Games app, which you can use to get Fortnite, is available in this store.

To download Fortnite on your Samsung device, open the Galaxy Store and type Fortnite or Epic Games on the search box. The top result should be the Epic Games app. Download and install it, and then follow the steps in the app to install Fortnite.

Once it's installed, launch Fortnite, sign into your Epic Games account and start playing.

WHAT IF I ALREADY HAVE FORTNITE INSTALLED FROM THE GOOGLE PLAY STORE?

If you already have Fortnite on phone, don't sweat it, you can still play the game just fine. The only limitation is you won't be able to update Fortnite. Ultimately, you'll have to install Fortnite using one of the two methods outlined above.

So that's all on how to install Fortnite on your Android phone. If you have any issues feel free to share it on the comment section below.
