The download statistics firm Sensor Tower says Call of Duty: Mobile which was released on October 1 by Activision achieved more downloads than any other mobile game in history since its launch, easily beating out the launch-week figures of its biggest rivals such as PUBG Mobile (28 million downloads) and Footnote (22.5 million downloads).

All this is particularly impressive since it hasn’t yet been launched in China even though it was developed by Chinese Tencent’s TiMi Studio under Activision.

Sensor Tower says that iOS made up 55.7 percent of Call of Duty: Mobile’s downloads and 53 percent of the total $17.7 million in revenue from in-app purchases. The US accounted for 16.9 percent of downloads and 43.1 percent of spending.

A PC and console version of the Call of Duty franchise titled Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is due to be released on 25 October.
