Happily, the problem can easily be solved by just temporarily disabling WebView. However, this will only work on devices running Android 7.0 or higher.

How to disable WebView

• Open the Google Play Store app.
• Tap the three stacked lines icon.

• Scroll down and tap Android System WebView from the apps list.
• In the app’s settings page, tap Uninstall to disable it.
• After disabling WebView, set your main mobile browser as the new default app the next time you load an in-app website. The pages will be able to load externally.
