Are you about to watch a foreign language film that doesn't have a subtitle embedded to translate what the characters in the film are saying? Or you may be hard at hearing and so need subtitles to understand what you are watching.
Of course, when a film is playing in a foreign language but it has no subtitle on it, you can very well be angry since it has taken your time, mobile data, and money to get the film.
So where and how do you get subtitles? And how can you add them on a film for viewing?

Locating subtitles online
Step 1
Firstly, you need to look for a good website you can find free subtitles There are many you can find online. Here are just five reliable websites you can get your subtitles from:
Downloading subtitles

Type the name of the film you whose subtitles you are looking for in the search box in any of the above websites and hit the search button.
Step 3
A list of films that closely match your search will be displayed. Go through it and click on the correct film.

Now you will be shown a list of subtitles in various languages. Scroll down through it and download the subtitles in your preferred language.
Note: The file will download mostly in .zip format. So you will need to extract the .srt file into a folder using RAR app which you can get from Google Play Store. Also realize that the subtitle you download may not accurately follow the words said in the film. So it recommended that you download about 6-7 subtitles.

If you have a RAR app, open it and locate the subtitles you downloaded. Checkmark on the box beside the file and tap on the extract icon that has an arrow at the center at the top of the screen.

You will be taken to a new page, tap on the OK at the bottom and the file will be extracted.
Adding subtitles to films

After you have extracted the subtitle file, start your media player, preferably VLC Player, and wait for it to load all the movies on your phone.

Next, proceed to play and pause the film you want to add the subtitle. Click on the option tab and locate "add subtitles" (on VLC you find it when you tap on the second button below the film). Tap on the "add subtitle" and it will take you to your folders.

Open the folder where the subtitles are and tap on the .srt file you extracted. Your film will start showing the subtitles when you start playing it.
