How to Easily View All Your Notifications History on Your Android

How many times do you receive a notification pop up on your phone and then quickly swipe it away without further thought because you don't have the time to view it?
Well we've all done that countless times. But what if it's an important notification? Perhaps it's a message on WhatsApp, Facebook or Facebook Messenger, or a breaking news story making waves, or a reminder from an app? If you later decide to want to check all the past notifications you've received to see what you've missed, how would you be able to go about it?

Although the ability to view your notification history has been a feature in Android for several years, it’s not easy to find, not even if you want try the normal phone Settings menu.

However, in this post, you going to learn how you can easily find all your notifications history on your Android handset.

How to view your notifications history

Before we begin there are certain things you need to know.

Firstly, you need to make sure your phone is running the latest Android version.

You also need to know that notifications can only be viewed if your phone has a built-in feature for viewing them. Smartphone that runs stock Android like the Pixel 2, Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, or any of the Android One devices has a widget called notification log in the operating system. If you are using any other devices other than these, you will not be able see the notifications except with the help of a third-party app.

So with all that said let's begin with the tutorial.

Method 1: Using stock Android to find the Notification history

1. Start your Android phone and then tap and hold on an empty space on the Home screen.

2. A menu will appear with the options SettingsWidgets, and Wallpapers. Tap on Widgets.

3. You will now be presented with a list of widgets. Scroll down the list until you find the one called Settings. Select it by tapping and holding it, and then drag and drop it on the Home screen.

4. Next a list of options will quickly come up. Scroll down the list until you find Notification Log and tap it.

5. A new icon will now appear on your Home screen that looks like Settings, but is named Notification Log. Tap on this icon and you will be shown all your past notifications.

Method 2: Using third-party apps on non-stock Android

If your device does not run a stock version of Android that carries the widget to help you retrieve your notification history, then as already stated earlier the only alternative left is to go for any of the third-party apps that can do it for you.

There are many free apps you can try on play store. Among the most popular are  Notification History Log, Notification Log, and Notification history. Choose the one you like and install it on your device. Open it and grant permission to read your notifications. You should then begin to see your notification history fill up on the app log.

Note: You won’t be able to see notifications that arrived before the app was installed on your phone, but you can be sure to get any future ones.

Hope this tutorial helps. Don't forget to share with your friends.
