Android Pie Supports Xbox One Controller

In what will be good news for mobile gamers, the latest Android Pie 9 will now be supporting Xbox One controllers.

This indeed is really exciting news particularly for fans of the first-person shooter on mobile who have been using third-party game controllers to get an edge over their opponents.

Android mobile gamers have since been unable to use Microsoft gamepads because of incorrect mapping. They have had to hold their phones and cover parts of the screen with their thumbs when playing games, in the process, harming the screen with sweat and dirt.

Now two years later, someone at Google had figured out how to fix the bug so that Xbox One controller will play smoothly. Now mobile gamers can use the same Xbox controllers that their console and PC counterparts use.

However, if you want to use your
Xbox One gamepad with your Android smartphone, your phone will need to be running Android Pie, along with one of the later gamepads released with the Xbox One S and included with the Xbox One X (since the original gamepads didn’t support Bluetooth). It is only then that you will be able to play games that are designed for controller support, such as Minecraft. Unfortunately, this will not include the recent Android Fortnite game release (but that could change soon).

What game will you like to try with Xbox controllers on your Android device?
