Microsoft has added an ad-blocker to its Edge browser on Android. The company partnered with Adblock Plus, a third-party service, to make this feature is available to smartphone users.
While Google Chrome browser only block out stuffs that didn't comply to its standards for white-listing, Ad Blocker Plus actively block all type of content you don't want to show up.
Other major browsers including Firefox also offers ad-blocking and they allow third party blockers to one level or another, though in the case of Android, such apps have been long-since banned from the Play Store and must be sideloaded.
Microsoft Edge is still not very popular amongst its core Windows 10 audience, but it is hoped that the new ad-blocking functionality will appeal to mobile users.
You can choose to turn off the Adblock on Microsoft Edge with a toggle switch in settings. The feature requires no additional software or plug-ins.
The new Adblock feature is currently being rolled out on Microsoft Edge to Android devices globally.
