Google Drive is an online storage service that lets you save various files (videos, photos, documents, music etc) to the cloud which you can access from your smartphone, tablet, or computer. But the new Google One will be replacing all Drive storage plans.

With Google One, you now have a new storage option. Google introduced a 200GB plan for $2.99/month, though Google One plans will still start at $1.99/month for 100GB. All 1TB plans at $9.99/month will be upgraded to 2TB plans (previously $19.99 per month) free of charge. This means that there’s no more 1TB plan. However, all plans larger than 2TB will remain the same.

There are several other new features that are also introduced, such as the ability to share your storage space with your family members. You can add up to five family members to your Google One account and share when you need to across services like Gmail and Google Photos.

Google One customers will also have one-tap access to Google experts on issues concerning their various consumer products and services via chat, email, and phone. Customers will also receive extras like Google Play credits and deals on select hotel bookings found in Google Search.

Google One seems to have potential of good things to come as we await the coming of the new Android P operating system. The increase in storage service is especially good news for those who never seem to have enough storage space to store files since we’re living in the age of high-res photos and 4K videos that quickly eat up phone space.

All customers of Google Drive storage plans will be upgraded to Google One over the next few months. Google One will begin rolling out in the coming months starting in the U.S.
