Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT), one of Nigeria's leading telecom company providing broadband internet service, is offering free WiFi in Lagos.
The company launched a free browsing program called "Red Cheetah Free WiFi" as a way to create more awareness for its services.
Red Cheetah Free Wifi is currently only available in Lagos, in about 500 locations that includes public spots, taxis, BRT buses, restaurants and malls. SWIFT Network hopes to reach 10,000 locations in 6 months.
Enjoying the free browsing service will require you to download the Red Cheetah app and register. Currently, it is only available on Android platform, but SWIFT has promised to make it available on iOS and Windows in the next 3 months.
The data cap for browsing on the internet with the app is 1GB per day. And rumor has it that it will be upgraded to unlimited browsing in the nearest future.
As a way to make the free browsing service available to users, Swift Networks is partnering with brands to periodically serve ads to users on Red Cheetah. So when browsing, you need to let the ads play for a few seconds.
