Verizon Begins Updating Their Phones With Android 8.0 Oreo


For all those who have Verizon Pixel and Pixel XL, get ready to receive the new Oreo over the air.

Verizon took a bold step when announced that they will begin updating their phones with Android 8.0 Oreo now. The update is version OPR6.170623.012.

Verizon's Pixel and Pixel XL are the phones that will be getting the Oreo, and they may be receiving the updates in stages. That means that it might take a few days before the update comes to your own Verizon device. You can always manually check for the update by going into Settings > System > System updates > Check for update.

When Google last week announced that they will start rolling out the Android 8.0 Oreo update to other phones, some people may have been expecting a long wait after Google’s own phones have receive theirs. But with Verizon now pushing the update to its Pixel phones, we can be sure that other devices would also very soon get theirs.
