How To Invite A Friend To Whatsapp

On an earlier post, I shared how to add contacts to Whatsapp. Now I want to share with you how you can invite those who aren't on Whatsapp.

While you won't be able to speak to contacts who don't have WhatsApp installed on their devices, you can invite any non-WhatsApp contacts to download the app.

There are 2 ways in which you can invite any of your friends to Whatsapp.

Method 1

Step 1: Open your Whatsapp (the green speech icon with a white phone in it).

Step 2: Tap on the Menu button at the top right of the app.

Step 3: Tap on Settings at drop down menu.

Step 4: When a new page comes up, tap on Contacts that is at the bottom.

Step 5: Tap on "Invite A Friend".

Step 6: A menu box will appear. Tap on Messages and you'll be taken to your phone's Messages service where you will see this message in the sender's box ready to be sent:

"Check out WhatsApp Messenger for smartphone. Download it today from https://whatsapp.com/dl/"

Step 7: Now type the number of the contact you want to invite to Whatsapp on the contact box and tap on the send button for the message to be delivered.

Step 8: Well, there is nothing to do except wait until your friend receives the message and accept the invitation.

Method 2

Step 1: Open your Whatsapp.

Step 2: At the bottom you will see the chat icon (a round green icon with a white speech logo in it). Tap on it.

Step 3: A new page will come up. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and tap on "Invite A Friend". Alternatively, you can tap on the Menu button at top right hand corner where a drop down menu will also display the "Invite A Friend" option.

Step 4: Like on the previous method, a page menu will pop up. Tap on Messages. You will be taken to your phone's Messages where you will see this message on the sender box ready to be sent:

"Check out WhatsApp Messenger for smartphone. Download it today from https://whatsapp.com/dl/"

Step 5: Follow the same steps I outlined in step 7 and 8 in Method 1.

Like the post, why don't you take a few seconds to share with your friends using the social media buttons at the top, or give your opinion on the comments section below.
