9Mobile Officially Replaces Etisalat With New Logo

9Mobile has officially replaced the Etisalat logo. This further confirms that Etisalat is really gone and no longer a part of the Telecommunications company. That, however, does not mean that the company’s values and ideals have been changed. Everything remains the same.

The company promises to remain committed to delivering innovative and quality services.

During a press briefing being held in Lagos, Boye Olusanya, the chief executive officer of 9mobile disclosed that the new name was chosen deliberately to reflect the company’s Nigerian heritage, its 9ja-centricity and a new phase of its growth over 9 operational years in Nigeria.

In explaining the choice of the new logo, the CEO stated that the new logo represented the brand’s continuity and resilience.

The brand’s color which remains unchanged (green) represents ‘Nigerianness’, as well as vibrancy, dynamism, life and youth.

Their Facebook page has this to say on the significance of the number 9:

"9 is our heritage.
Life begins at 9. 9 is significant with nature, the start of life, time of birth, from our entry into the market 9 years ago to our evolution 9 years after, we are still 0809ja."
