That means Google will set your photos size to 16 megapixels and videos at 1080p. Don't worry, you can still save your photos and videos at Original quality — the quality at which they were taken.  After you set up your account, you will be able to have your pictures and videos sent to the cloud, and then access them from any phone, tablet, or PC, as well as on the web. Glo Have Slashed Data Volumes By Half

Disbelief! Shock! Outrage!

Those were the reactions I experienced when I checked on Glo’s data plan from my mobile phone in order to renew my exhausted plan.

I couldn’t believe what my eyes were seeing.

The telecom giant, who called themselves the grandmasters of data plans, had slashed their data volume by half, meaning that we now get to pay the same full amount for half of what we formerly get.

To put it simply, what was formerly 3.2GB for N1000 is now 1.6GB for N1000.

Just dial *777# and follow the prompt to see for yourself if you haven’t.

Unbelievable don’t you think?

The route Glo seem to be taking is risky and bad for their business since their network connection is already considered to be one of the poorest in the country that has left a long queue of subscribers fuming.

The only reason people like us have remained loyal to Glo despite their epileptic network is because their data plan is the most affordable and the cheapest in Nigeria.

So their new decision is not going to win them any favor. Already some people who have gotten wind of the news have decided to migrate to other network providers.

And can one blame them?

Why pay N1000 for 1.6GB only to get poor network connection when you could get better network from another network provider for that same price and almost the same plan…smh.

Glo however released a statement in their official site, stating that the new move to reduce data volume would not affect new subscribers as they can still get double. Current subscribers can also get double, provided they subscribe to a new plan within 3 days after their data is finished. If they fail to renew their plan, they will get half the data volume when they do eventually subscribe.

Here is how Glo worded it on their site.

***New Customers would get Double Volume.

***All Existing Customers who will have continuous subscription of data plans would also continue to enjoy the Double Volume.

***There would be a grace period of 3 days to still enjoy the benefits of continuous subscription.

***Customers who fail to renew their data plans within 3 Days of the Expiry of their Data Plans would get HALF the Data Volume.

***The Benefits of continuous subscription and the volume advantage would be communicated in the standard threshold alerts that go to the customer.

***All the other attributes of these plans remain unchanged (i.e Gifting, Sharing etc).
