Glo Data Plan For Android Devices - May 2017

Glo data plans for Androids for May 2017 (Updated)

Posted by Chris Iteh

This post has been updated to reflect on the recent changes made by Glo on their data volumes.

May is here again and we’ll all be having a lot to do online with our Android devices, such as watching the Champions League semi-finals or getting the latest news and gist in entertainment and politics or even engaging in aggressive marketing. As such we want a lot of internet data that is affordable, not too pricey. That’s where Glo comes in.

Though Glo just recently reduced their internet data volumes by half they are still the cheapest at the moment compared to what other internet providers charge.

The reduction of data volume may not go down well with many subscribers since Glo network can at times be very terrible. But there is still a chance for existing and new subscribers to enjoy the former double volume.

According to Glo’s official site:

***New Customers would get Double Volume.

***All Existing Customers who will have continuous subscription of data plans would also continue to enjoy the Double Volume.

***There would be a grace period of 3 days to still enjoy the benefits of continuous subscription.

***Customers who fail to renew their data plans within 3 Days of the Expiry of their Data Plans would get HALF the Data Volume.

***The Benefits of continuous subscription and the volume advantage would be communicated in the standard threshold alerts that go to the customer.

***All the other attributes of these plans remain unchanged (i.e Gifting, Sharing etc).

If you are eligible to enjoy the benefit of double data volumes, I suggest you consider the Data Plans for 2017 below. These data bundles works perfectly well on all devices including Android smartphones, Apple iPads and iPhones, internet modems, PSP and laptops.

Data Calculator
You can calculate the internet data you are using with this guide:

Web browsing = 10MB per hour

Email = 50KB per email

YouTube streaming = 2MB per minute.

That means:

100MB will be equivalent to 10 hours of web browsing or checking 2000 emails or watching 50 mins of video streaming.

500MB will be equivalent to 50 hours web browsing or the checking of 10,000 emails or watching 4 hours of video streaming.

2GB will be equivalent of 200 hours of web browsing or the checking of 40,000 emails or watching 20 hours of video streaming.

6GB will be equivalent to 600 hours of web browsing or watching 60 hours of video streaming or using your mobile as modem.

Well that’s all for Glo Data plans. If you know a new plan I missed, feel free to comment below.
